Fliggity Air’s Frequently Asked Questions

SOUND EFFECTS AND AUDIO

What sound effects do we have available in stream? Check it out, a handy list here

How do I get my own personal sound effect? When you become a regular in the channel with 20+ hours (check it in chat by typing !hours). When you get to that milestone just grab a link to a youtube video of the 5-7 seconds that you want to have and message Fliggity. Give it a few days though, he's a busy guy! There are a few other ways to get additional personal sound effects but this is probably the first one you'll earn.

Can I suggest a new sound effect? You sure can! The best way is probably to put your idea in #sfx-ideas

Where can we check out the super creative music that John McClane has been producing? Ask and you shall receive, here you go

What music does the stream use? For copyright reasons we use licensed royalty-free music from epidemic sound. If you'd like to sign up you can do so here Full disclosure, this is a referral link.

STREAM RESOURCES: FLIGHTS

Where do I find the current flight plan? You can take a look in #flight-plans on discord or here.

Are we in the middle of a multi-trip adventure, where can I get information on that? If we are then you can find all the trips in our current adventure here

Our previous trips logs can be found here:

Where can I see details on all of our past flights? You're in luck, our history of flights, along with flight plans and all the associated information is available here. Additionally, BraceYourself has created a sweet Google Map showing our destinations which you can check out here

Are you taking flight suggestions? How do I submit a suggestion for a flight? We're not always looking for flight ideas but you can submit a request with the form here

Where are you getting your charts? On stream you're probably seeing Navigraph's Jeppesen charts. It's a subscription service with more information available here but you can also often find free charts online from sites like Sky Vector

Did you want to fly with Fliggity Air as a Virtual Airline? We've gotten ourselves setup on FS Hub so you can apply to join and start ranking up! Check out all the information you need here. There's also a mini F.A.Q. on that page for Virtual Airline specifics!

STREAM RESOURCES: AIRCRAFT SPECIFICS

Is that the stock Airbus A320? More than likely not. While Fliggity does have the Fenix A320, he often chooses the Fly By Wire A32NX which is freely available.

The A32NX and CRJ seem so complicated, are there guides for them? We recommend you check out YouTube videos for actual guides. For the A32NX, 320 Sim Pilot is a great resource and for the CRJ we recommend The Dude's CRJ playlist.

You may also hear us refer to our checklists for some aircraft, most of these are available online and we've just customized them a little. Check them out here

Your plane looks AMAZING, where can I get one of those custom skins/liveries? The liveries were done by several very talented members of our community. Check out our gallery here and download them all TODAY!

REAL LIFE

Are you a real pilot? No. Fliggity is a teacher in the real world teaching percussion to high school students in the USA. PS, did you know that a paradiddle is a drumming rudiment that combines single strokes with precisely placed double strokes. In drum terminology, “para” means "single stroke" and “diddle” means "double stroke," and thus the term describes a sticking pattern where a single stroke is followed by a double stroke.

Do you play any other games? There have been other games in the past, you can check them out along with ratings and other stats here

What does your setup look like? Here's all the information about the setup. The only thing missing is the massive fridge he has full of Fliggity Energy Drinks.

CHANNEL POINTS

How do I get these channel points? You earn channel points (not to be confused with waffles) by partaking in the in-stream games such as:

  • predictions: You predict Fliggity's landing rate in feet-per-minute (hint: this should be a negative number)
  • free-for-alls: using the !ffa command
  • boss fights: using the !boss command
  • vaults: take your chance in raiding the Fliggity Vault with the !vault command
  • duel: go up against someone else in chat using the !duel command
  • raffles: using the !raffle command (you have to have at least 20 hours in stream to do this one)

What can I do with the channel points? You can use them to partake in things like free-for-alls, boss fights, vaults, and duels.

So I can just horde these channel points? Only to a certain extent; when someone reaches a prescribed number of points (currently it's 25k) then the season is declared over, the top three people are entered into the history books, and everyone is returned to 500 points save the top three who each get an additional 500 points.

The "history books" for the seasons can be viewed here The lifetime achievement list (for points) can be viewed here

What are these waffles and how do I get them? Waffles are what we call Twitch's channel points (confusing, I know) and you accumulate them by simply being active in the stream or in the in-stream wagers that we sometimes run. You can see your total waffles just below your text entry window for chat. You can get a list of the things you can spend them on by clicking on those points.

SOUND EFFECTS

Where can I see a list of the sound effects? Check it out here

How do I get my own private sound effect? There are a few ways... you qualify for your first one when you accumulate 20 hours in the stream (check this using the !hours command in chat). You also qualify for another sound effect when you reach 1000 hours in the stream and for each 1000 hours following that milestone. You can also choose to get one by winning the season - this is done by being the first to accumulate a specified number of channel points. As of writing this it's 25K points but that is subject to change without modification of this message.

Are there restrictions on what my sound effect can be? We generally prefer them to be no longer than 7 seconds and common sense rules apply - no hate speech etc. We'll let you know if it's not going to be accepted and you can choose something else.
